The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading Australian provider of cyber-first technology and managed services, to find a Senior Systems Engineer (L3) to join their Delivery team in Sydney.
This role sits at the top of the technical escalation path, giving you ownership over complex incidents, platform performance, and project delivery, while also shaping how lower-tier teams operate through knowledge transfer and automation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Solve high-complexity technical issues across cloud and infrastructure environments
- Lead major incident resolution with clear technical direction and stakeholder communication
- Deliver billable project work, onboarding, and infrastructure deployments
- Own and optimise service delivery platforms (monitoring, backup, security tools)
- Drive root cause analysis and eliminate repeat issues permanently
- Work directly with clients — translating complex solutions into clear outcomes
- Mentor L1/L2 engineers and uplift team capability
What You’ll Bring
- Strong hands-on AWS experience (certifications highly regarded)
- 5+ years in senior engineering / L3 support roles
- Deep expertise across one or more domains:
- Cloud (AWS / hybrid environments)
- Infrastructure (virtualisation, backup, DR)
- Networking or Security
- Solid grounding in ITIL / ITSM frameworks
- Proven ability to work in client-facing environments
- Experience managing multiple concurrent engagements
