Terms & Conditions for Recruitment of Staff

 

THE SERVICE WE OFFER 

The Recruitment Alternative (TRA) will endeavour to source suitable candidates for its clients and submit those candidates for interview. TRA’s service fees are for undertaking all or some of the following:  

  • ascertaining the client’s recruitment needs  
  • writing job ads and monitoring the performance of those ads   
  • posting multiple job advertisements on various job boards  
  • conducting candidate searches on various candidate databases   
  • sourcing candidates that accord as closely as possible with the client’s selection criteria  
  • undertake social media paid advertisement campaigns  
  • screening initial applications and resumes  
  • conducting preliminary interviews  
  • pre-selecting the most appropriate candidates  
  • facilitate candidate police checks   
  • scheduling candidate interview times with client  
  • informing successful and unsuccessful candidates of outcomes  
  • conducting referee checks where possible  

 

SERVICE FEE STRUCTURE 

  1. RECRUIT PACKAGE (STANDARD)

Roles under $100,000 p.a.: $695 + GST commencement fee and $3300 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

Roles between $100,000 – $150,000 p.a.: $695 + GST commencement fee and $3800 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

Roles between $150,000 – $200,000 p.a.: $695 + GST commencement fee and $4300 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

Roles over $200,000 p.a.: $695 + GST commencement fee and $4800 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

  1. RECRUIT+ PACKAGE (UPGRADED)

Roles under $150,000 p.a.: $1,995 + GST commencement fee (payable before campaign start) and $5,000 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

Roles between $150,000 – $200,000 p.a.: $1,995 + GST commencement fee and $5,500 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

Roles over $200,000 p.a.: $1,995 + GST commencement fee and $6,000 + GST placement fee upon successful placement. 

Note:  

Engagement fees must be paid prior to TRA commencing work on the campaign. Placement fees are only payable upon successful candidate placement.  

CANCELLATION POLICY  

Once a campaign has commenced, significant work and advertising expenditure are incurred immediately. For this reason, the following cancellation fees apply to cover work completed and advertising costs already incurred:  

If a client elects to cancel a campaign after engagement but before completion:  

  • After shortlisting or interviews have commenced: 50% of the total campaign placement fee 
  • After a candidate offer has been made: 75% of the campaign placement fee 

If a campaign is paused by the client for more than 30 days, TRA reserves the right to treat the campaign as cancelled and the above cancellation fees will apply based on the stage of progress at that time.  

ADDITIONAL 

TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE (TRP) 

Includes base salary, super, all allowances including car, bonuses and/or reasonably expected commissions.    

SUCCESSFUL PLACEMENT 

A successful placement is deemed to have been made on the day a candidate commences work with the client irrespective of whether the candidate is hired on a trial basis.  Should the placed candidate leave within 5 working days, TRA will void the placement invoice.  

The client is liable for the placement fee should they hire the candidate introduced by TRA in a different role to the one originally advertised or pass on the details of the candidate to a third party who subsequently hires the candidate in introduced by TRA. 

CANDIDATE REPLACEMENT INSURANCE POLICY 

In the event a placed candidate leaves the client within 90 days (Recruit Package) or 1200 days (Recruit + Package), TRA will endeavour to replace the candidate, once only, provided that: 

  1. TRA has been informed in writing of the termination or release of the candidate within the guarantee period, and the replacement campaign starts within 30 calendar days of: 
  2. The client notifying TRA of the candidate’s departure; and 
  3. The issuance of the replacement invoice; and 
  4. A Replacement Insurance Excess fee of $850.00 + GST is paid. 
  5. The candidate’s departure is not due to a company restructure, redundancy, and/or a significant change in the job description. The replacement must be for the same role. 
  6. The placement invoice was fully paid within 21 days of the date of invoicing, unless both parties agree, in writing, on alternative payment terms. 

  

TRA will do its best to find a suitable replacement candidate but does not guarantee a successful placement. TRA will make every effort to source a suitable replacement for one TRA campaign cycle (a total of 1 month). This replacement campaign may be extended for an additional month with the payment of a Campaign Continuation Fee. No refunds are available should TRA fail to place a suitable replacement candidate within that time. 

Should TRA fail to successfully place a replacement candidate, the client will be offered a 25% placement discount on their next campaign with TRA. 

OPTIONAL CAMPAIGN CONTINUATION FEE (EXTENDED CAMPAIGN) 

TRA’s campaigns run for a period of up to four weeks (Recruit Package) or up to eight weeks (Recruit + Package). In the event a role has not been successfully completed upon the completion of the allotted period, TRA, in consultation with the client, will decide whether the campaign should be extended for another four weeks. If both parties agree the campaign merits continuation, TRA will require from the client a Campaign Continuation Fee of $695 + GST. Should the client not wish to continue with the campaign TRA will immediately stop any further work. There will be no extra charges to the client should the latter decide not to continue with TRA’s services.   

FUTURE PRICE INCREASES 

TRA may at any future date alter any of the prices listed in this document.  It is the responsibility of the client to check for any future price changes.  Up to date TRA pricing can be found on TRA’s website or by calling TRA.  

CONFIDENTIALITY 

The introduction of all candidates to the client is made in the strictest confidence.  Reports on candidates are highly confidential and should only be shared (on a confidential basis) with those parties who are directly involved with the recruitment assignment. TRA is not liable for any breaches of candidate confidentiality.  

FEE PAYMENT 

Placement & Replacement fees will be payable within twenty-one days of date of invoice to validate the replacement guarantee.  

FINAL SELECTION OF CANDIDATE 

For the removal of any doubt, the client shall have the final say on which candidate/s are to be hired.   

THIRD PARTY REFERRALS 

Should a candidate that was introduced to the client be passed on to a third party with a resulting engagement or placement of that candidate, then the client will be liable for payment of the full fee as set out in these terms and conditions.  

INDEMNITY 

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the suitability of a particular candidate, TRA does not accept liability for any loss, costs or damages, however caused, arising as a result of the placement of a candidate.  

POLICE CHECK  

TRA can arrange police checks for candidates who may be required to work with vulnerable individuals. These checks are conducted on behalf of the client, and any information provided is strictly confidential. Clients must not download, distribute, or share the results. TRA utilises industry providers, as well as state and national police databases, but does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of the information obtained. 

REFERENCE CHECKING AND SUITABILITY 

TRA will endeavour to ensure that candidates introduced to the client are appropriate given the assignment brief provided by the client.  However, TRA will not be liable for any untrue statements or misrepresentations made by any candidates during interview or for the accuracy or completeness of information provided by a candidate or a third party such as referees and academic qualifications.  

TRA does not conduct specific skills testing unless requested by the client.  In the event a client requests specific skills testing TRA will administer the tests on behalf of the client only if the relevant tests are readily available. TRA uses third party on-line testing providers for skills testing and does not take responsibility for the test results.  Clients are wholly responsible for satisfying themselves as to the suitability of the candidate for the position offered prior to engaging the candidate.   

UPDATES TO PRICES AND SERVICES   

Future updates to these Terms and Conditions, including changes to pricing and services offered, will be communicated via our website and will take effect from the date updates are published.
