We’re partnering with a leading Australian technology and cyber security provider to find a Security Engineering Practice Lead specialising in Vulnerability Management (VM) and Network Detection & Response (NDR).
This is a rare opportunity to shape and lead a growing practice while remaining deeply technical.
The Opportunity
This role is a true blend of strategy and hands-on engineering (50/50 split), where you’ll:
- Lead and evolve a high-performing security engineering practice
- Drive cutting-edge cyber solutions for enterprise clients
- Influence technology direction, capability uplift, and service innovation
- Act as a trusted SME in client-facing engagements
You’ll play a key role in delivering secure, scalable, and forward-thinking solutions in a fast-moving cyber landscape.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and shape the practice roadmap, services, and strategy
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers
- Oversee solution design, delivery quality, and technical assurance
- Support pre-sales and client engagements (workshops, proposals, solutioning)
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and R&D initiatives
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges
- Collaborate across cloud, data, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions
What You Bring
- 3-5+ years in Security Engineering, ideally with VM/NDR focus
- Strong experience with tools such as:
- Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management
- CrowdStrike Exposure Management
- Tenable (and similar platforms)
- Exposure to SIEM platforms (e.g. Sentinel, CrowdStrike)
- Solid understanding of:
- Threat frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS)
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP)
- Windows & Linux environments
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) – highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills with a client-facing mindset
