Brisbane | Full-Time | Hybrid Work Options
Ready to step into a role where you’ll build, engineer, and deliver real-world cyber security solutions, not just monitor alerts?
We’re seeking a switched-on Security Engineer who brings a solid foundation in security engineering (or a SOC Analyst ready to step up) and is eager to work across modern security platforms in a client-facing, delivery-focused environment.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be involved in designing, implementing, and supporting security solutions across a range of customer environments.
You’ll work alongside a high-performing team, gaining exposure to enterprise-grade tools and helping organisations strengthen their security posture in a meaningful way.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Implementing and supporting security technologies across client environments
- Working with SIEM, EDR, cloud, and email/web security platforms
- Onboarding log sources and integrating security controls
- Troubleshooting incidents, analysing logs, and resolving technical issues
- Supporting delivery of security projects alongside engineering and PMO teams
- Engaging directly with clients to provide updates, solutions, and support
- Contributing to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
- Staying current with emerging threats and evolving technologies
What You’ll Bring
- Australian Citizenship (essential), security clearance highly regarded
- Previous experience in a Security Engineering role, OR
- A SOC Analyst who has taken on engineering responsibilities
- Exposure to:
- SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike)
- Endpoint security tools (e.g. Defender, CrowdStrike)
- Email/web security platforms
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP) and systems (Windows/Linux)
- Familiarity with security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS)
- Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash) is advantageous
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills
Why You’ll Love This Role
- True hands-on engineering work (not just monitoring)
- Exposure to modern, enterprise security environments
- Strong focus on training, certifications, and career progression
- Collaborative, supportive team culture
- Hybrid work flexibility
Who This Suits
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has already stepped into security engineering and wants to deepen their skills
- OR is a SOC Analyst ready to transition into engineering
- Wants to work in a client-facing, delivery-driven environment
- Is ambitious, curious, and keen to grow in cybersecurity
If you’re ready to take the next step into a more advanced, engineering-focused cyber role, we’d love to hear from you.
