As a Geotechnical Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client’s industry-leading business from the Notting Hill office. This role will be responsible for working at various locations in Melbourne, conducting soil sampling and downhole analysis, and driving medium-rigid heavy vehicles, including towing trailers. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with the Instrumentation team to install and maintain monitoring devices on-site. You will be proficient in working safely and comply with safety procedures and regulations throughout all daily activities

Duties:
- Execute geotechnical fieldwork, including drilling and soil sampling.
- Conduct geotechnical and environmental investigations.
- Prepare and implement Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Maintain vigilance on underground services during drilling.
- Load, transport, and maintain drilling equipment.
- Perform daily pre-start checks and general maintenance on rigs.
- Assist in monitoring well drilling and installations.
- Collect and record data for reporting purposes.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree qualified in Engineering or Engineering Geology.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in drilling or relevant works
- Strong fieldwork experience in geotechnical drilling.
- Valid Australian driving license, white card required.
- Excellent physical fitness with a good work ethic.
- Strong driving skills for manual vehicles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Willingness to travel for projects within Victoria
- Strong teamwork skills, while able to work independently.
