About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of data-driven digital solutions in a SQL-based environment, acting as the bridge between their clients, Project/Account Management team and their technical specialists.
This is a hands-on technical delivery role, not a coordination-only PM position.
You will own solutions end-to-end:
- From discovery and requirements gathering through technical design
- Lead our development team to build and validate solutions
- To deployment, UAT sign-off and post-release support
You’ll combine project management discipline, strong business analysis capability, and technical confidence with data and SQL-based systems to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and fit for real-world use.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Project & Delivery Management
- Deliver digital solutions across the full lifecycle: Scope, Plan, Build, Test, Deploy and Production
- Ensure maintenance processes and systems for digital solutions developed are continually audited
- Own project schedules, risks, dependencies, resources and budgets
- Coordinate cross-team delivery timelines and manage technical dependencies
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
- Facilitate client and internal WIP meetings and ensure clear follow-up and documentation
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and solution quality
Business Analysis & Requirements Translation
- Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand workflows, pain points and data needs
- Define functional and non-functional requirements with clear acceptance criteria
- Translate business objectives into detailed technical specifications (schemas, mappings, transformations)
- Create mapping documents that align business terminology with system fields and data sources
- Collaborate with developers to validate feasibility and refine requirements before build
Documentation & Internal Enablement
- Produce clear, business-friendly documentation to support Account Management teams. This document should include technical requirements for the project.
- Lead the Technical team to create and maintain:
o Technical guides explaining data flows and system dependencies.
o Field mappings, data dictionaries and integration notes
o Release notes and change logs outlining system updates and impacts.
UAT & Solution Ownership
- Prepare UAT scenarios
- Support business users during UAT, triage defects, and clarify expected behaviour
- Coordinate fixes with technical team and validate outcomes before sign-off
- Act as the internal owner of delivered solutions post-implementation
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 3+ years’ experience in Technical Project Management, Solutions Delivery, Business Analysis, or similar
- Strong experience delivering data-driven or software-based solutions
- Proven ability to manage scope, schedules, dependencies and stakeholders
- Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to translate business needs into practical technical outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical Capability
- Experience working with development teams in structured SDLC environments
- Strong documentation skills using business-friendly language
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Visio desirable
