About the Role:
Our client has been proudly Australian owned and operated since 1989. They are the leading independent supplier of safety equipment, clothing and footwear, supplying Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients across the construction, mining and industrial markets.
Due to increased demand, a newly created position is now available for a confident, energetic, self-motivated Key Account Business Development Manager, who will be responsible for sales across the Western Australia region. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the main emphasis of this role will be to increase market share of their products, through new business development and key account management of existing clients, in order to achieve sales targets, business growth and profit objectives for the business. We are looking for a confident, high-energy professional who has a hunger for success and is not afraid to hunt for new leads and who loves the thrill of a new sale as much as growing great client relationships. Knowledge or experience within the Safety sector or aligned industries, would be an advantage.

Duties:
- Proactively manage and develop a portfolio of major accounts
- Develop a thorough understanding of key client needs and requirements
- Highly driven, with the ability to consistently meet and exceed targets
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships
- Identify opportunities to expand business within existing accounts
- Identify and strategically target new clients and industry sectors
- Maintaining an accurate client database (CRM) & pipeline
- Effectively manage a planning strategy for the client base and territory
- Prepare quarterly business reviews for major clients
- Attend industry and trade events to promote solutions and build brand visibility
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in a B2B BDM / Key Account Management role
- Experience in safety and workwear apparel or experience dealing in the mining, engineering, construction or industrial industries highly regarded
- Proven history of meeting and exceeding Targets & KPI’s
- Skilled in managing sales territories and planning regular call cycles
- An aptitude for understanding client needs, and the ability to provide solutions
- Excellent presentation with an engaging and personable manner
- Superior negotiation, account management and client relationship skills
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Have a natural energy, passion and enthusiasm for your role
- Be hardworking, diligent, positive and optimistic in your business dealings
- Good working knowledge of MS Office and CRM systems
- Understanding of budgets and financial reports
- Strong time management skills, with exceptional follow up and customer service
