As a part of that growth, a newly created position is now available for an experienced, commercially astute Accountant, who will be able to support the business through their next growth phase. This is a very hands on role, where with the assistance of two offshore team members, you will be solely responsible for all facets of Finance, including; AR/AP, Bank Reconciliations, Cashflow Forecasting P&L and Balance Sheet reporting.
It is envisaged you will have 5+ years experience in a Commercial Accounting role, ideally within a construction/joinery operation or similar. A hands-on approach and a willingness and desire to chip in and get things done are essential requirements for this role.

Duties:
- Manage the organisation’s cash flow and financial reporting obligations, with responsibility for timely preparation, analysis and presentation of management reports
- Management and leadership of existing local and offshore team members
- Daily bank reconciliations and cashflow monitoring, ensuring all progress claim payments are accurate and up to date
- Full control of Accounts Payable and approval of payments
- Daily monitoring of Accounts Receivables, including credit control and negotiations with clients for better payment terms where required
- Ensure compliance with all State and Federal obligations including BAS, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, Insurances etc
- Work closely with external Accountants in the management of the organization’s statutory obligations
- Collaborate, design, implement and review finance systems, policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement
- Manage relationships and payment terms with Vendors & Suppliers, ensuring quality and cost effectiveness
- Reconciling projects prior to sign off on Final Deeds of Release
- Management reporting to suit business needs
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA or CA qualifications preferable
- Demonstrated Accounting experience within the Construction/Joinery industry and/or Project Management business experience
- A track record of providing strategic financial and operational leadership in an SME environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in preparing reports and presentations
- Proven ability to understand key financial and business variables in a complex and changing commercial environment
- Demonstrated experience managing risk and compliance
- An understanding of HR, payroll and modern award compliance obligations
- Positive can-do, willing and flexible attitude
- Ability to deliver results and set your own and the teams goal
- Results driven, with a high level of commercial acumen
- An analytical mind and high level problem-solving ability
- Highly computer literate in MS Office, Accounting Software & ERP systems
- MUST be living in AU and have full Australian working rights
