Our client is a well-established and highly regarded boutique accounting firm with a long-standing reputation for providing tailored advice and support to individuals, businesses and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs). Their down-to-earth and client-first approach, combined with deep technical expertise, sets them apart.
As they continue to grow, they’re seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join their St Kilda-based team.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the partners and working closely with a skilled team, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio across SMSFs and general business services. This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your public practice career in a professional, values-led firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare SMSF financial statements and tax returns using BGL 360
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure SMSF compliance and audit requirements are met
- Prepare tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
- Support clients with tax, accounting and compliance queries
- Work directly with partners to deliver high-quality, personalised advice
- Assist in identifying tax planning and business improvement strategies
What You’ll Bring
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently completing)
- 3-5+ years’ experience in public practice (essential)
- Proven experience with SMSFs, including BGL 360
- Confidence using MYOB AO, Xero and/or MYOB AccountRight
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- A genuine passion for public practice and long-term career development
