Well-established structural engineering consultancy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Structural Engineer to join their high-performing residential team. This role is essential for pre-checking structural designs submitted by their overseas partners. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct first stage review of structural drawings and calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant Victorian regulations and variations before the final review and certification.

Duties:
- Thoroughly review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications from overseas teams
- Check compliance with relevant Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and local regulations
- Identify errors, omissions, and non-compliance issues in submissions
- Provide clear, concise mark-ups (PDF/Bluebeam/redline) and written comments
- Coordinate effectively with overseas designers via email and Microsoft Teams
- Update internal checklists and tracking registers efficiently
- Prepare summary reports for Senior Structural Engineer prior to final review
- Assist with occasional site inspections and respond to RFIs as necessary
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structural engineering
- Strong working knowledge of Victorian residential design requirements
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings and calculations
- Excellent attention to detail and systematic checking methodology
- Competent with PDF mark-up tools, especially Bluebeam Revu
- Good written and verbal communication skills for constructive feedback
- Experience reviewing or coordinating offshore-produced designs highly desireable
