About the Role:
Our client is a highly successful Gold Coast business who provides innovative and safe lifting solutions for heavy machinery in the mining and construction industry.  They have been in operation for over 50 years, and have developed a reputation for uncompromised quality, reliability and design.  Their products are locally manufactured and are supplied to customers in Australia and throughout a number of Countries around the World.

This business is on a strategic growth trajectory, both domestically and internationally. As a part of this, an exciting and challenging role is now available for a highly driven and commercially focused BDM, who will be responsible for establishing, developing and growing strong customer relationships with new and existing markets throughout Australia and Overseas.  Ideally you will have a well-developed knowledge of the mining and construction industry and have the ability and connections to enable you to identify your own leads. In addition, you will have demonstrated success in selling capital equipment into this sector and pride yourself on being able to build strong relationships and become a trusted partner for their business.

Duties and responsibilities;

  • Work through a mix of cold and warm new business leads, repeat and dormant accounts to ensure all possible sales opportunities have been identified
  • Develop relationships with existing and new business contacts and become a trusted business partner
  • Assess potential partners, performing competitive research and evaluating proposed deals/partnerships
  • Analyse and develop business cases for new business targets
  • Be a lead point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, all while providing exceptional customer service
  • Provide revenue forecasts and review sales results to ensure budget, KPIs & KPAs are being met
  • Utilise your strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills to secure and close new business and sales opportunities
  • Plan local sales strategies, proposals, and presentations
  • Provide feedback, training and resources to help dealers achieve sales goals
  • Attend industry expos, conferences and trade shows as required

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven sales ability and track record of overachievement and successfully growing market share, identifying, negotiating and closing large dollar deals
  • Market knowledge and/or existing relationships across industrial categories such as earthmoving, mining and construction
  • An ability to deal with clients at all levels and translate client needs into a complete solution
  • Demonstrated success in operating effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, complex, rapid growth environment
  • A mindset that is flexible and adaptable in a constantly changing business/market environment
  • Good understanding of the interrelationship between engineering, production and sales functions
  • Have prior knowledge and experience in distributor and or franchise based business operating models.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and accountability, with the ability to analyse data and make data driven decisions
  • Sound computer skills including MS Office and CRM systems
  • Be available to travel extensively throughout Australia
  • MUST have full working rights in Australia
