The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial and industrial builder-developer with a strong pipeline of projects.
This is a unique opportunity to work across both construction and development, giving you full exposure to the project lifecycle – from early feasibility through to final account.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are accurately costed, well-managed, and commercially successful.

What you’ll be doing
- Preparing cost estimates and cost plans across all project stages
- Providing value engineering advice to improve project outcomes
- Managing the tender process, including analysis and recommendations
- Preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
- Assessing and certifying subcontractor progress claims
- Managing and negotiating variations
- Maintaining detailed cost reports and forecasting cost to completion
- Supporting contract administration and providing commercial advice
- Preparing final accounts and post-project cost analysis
- Supporting development feasibility and financier reporting
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in commercial or industrial construction
- Strong estimating and cost planning capability
- Experience with cost reporting, variations, and progress claims
- Knowledge of Australian construction contracts (AS 4000, AS 4300, AS 2124)
- Familiarity with Security of Payment legislation (Qld preferred)
- Experience with CostX, Buildsoft, Cubit or similar
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong commercial acumen
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
Nice to have (but not essential)
- Experience in a builder-developer environment
- Exposure to development feasibility modelling
- Knowledge of Queensland market rates
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- AIQS membership (or working towards)
