About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced, mechanically minded Production/Packaging Line Operator to oversee and operate an industrial-scale automated production line. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in meeting production targets while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with a supportive production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct machine start-up safety pre-checks and manage multiple production runs per shift
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Operate front-end loader (training provided if required)
- Monitor and oversee the full production line, including palletiser and hooding machinery
- Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and servicing of production equipment
- Maintain accurate production records, including:
- Quality control documentation
- Machine maintenance checks and sign-offs
- Daily production schedules
- Batch control and troubleshooting logs
- Meet production output targets in a fast-paced environment
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Assist in other areas of the business as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Current Forklift Licence – essential (applications without a licence will not be considered)
- Full, unrestricted work rights in Australia – essential
- Previous experience as a Production Line or Machine Operator
- Front-end loader experience (preferred but not essential)
- Mechanically minded with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Sound literacy and basic numeracy for accurate record keeping
- Strong understanding of WHS / OH&S requirements
- Physically fit and capable of hands-on manual work
- High attention to detail, particularly with equipment care and maintenance
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
- Strong organisation, planning, and time-management skills
