Established in the 1990s, our client is one of the leading tarpaulin manufacturers, supplying products for agriculture, industrial, and commercial uses across Australia.
A newly created position is now available for an experienced, commercially astute Accountant, who will be able to support the business through their next growth phase. This is a very hands-on role, where you will be responsible for all facets of Finance, including; AR/AP, Bank Reconciliations, Payroll, Cashflow Forecasting P&L and Balance Sheet reporting. In addition, you will be assisting to implement process improvements and support their system transition from Xero to Netsuite.
The successful candidate will need to be Tertiary Qualified and have 5+ years’ experience in a Commercial Accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing operation or similar. A hands-on approach and a willingness and desire to chip in and get things done are essential requirements for this role.

Duties:
- Manage and process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and process weekly payroll ensuring award compliance
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards daily
- Manage cash flow and oversee weekly payment runs
- Support month-end close, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with BAS, PAYG, and other ATO lodgements
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Implement process improvements and support system transition to NetSuite
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Generate weekly and monthly financial reports and variance analysis
- Prepare documents and data for board reporting and strategic reviews
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA or CA qualifications preferable
- 5+ years demonstrated Financial Accounting experience, ideally within the manufacturing industry or similar
- A track record of providing strategic financial and operational leadership in an SME environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in preparing reports and presentations
- An understanding of HR, payroll and modern award compliance obligations
- Positive can-do, willing and flexible attitude
- Results driven, with a high level of commercial acumen
- An analytical mind and high level problem-solving ability
- Highly computer literate in MS Office, Accounting Software & ERP systems
- MUST be living in AU and have full Australian working rights. This role is not suitable to someone who requires Sponsorship.
