About the Role
Due to continued business growth, our client is seeking a qualified Workshop Mechanic to join their professional team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with heavy vehicle power steering systems and parts.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will independently service, diagnose, and repair heavy vehicle power steering systems, as well as rebuild power steering equipment.

Duties:
- Service, repair and diagnose heavy vehicle power steering system
- Rebuild power steering equipment for heavy vehicles, including on vehicle repairs
- Liaise with customers to determine and propose alternative solutions to customers
- Complete and submit reports, proposals and for each job
- Work with the company management system.
- Follow existing quality & safety processes and procedures
- Ensure a safe workplace is maintained
- All OHS incidents are documented and reported
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Ideally experience with Heavy Vehicle power steering systems parts
- Trade certificate as a Mechanic (with truck experience)
- Forklift and Heavy Rigid licenses are essential
- In-depth understanding of heavy vehicle power steering systems and parts is ideal
- Advanced mechanical skills and aptitude.
- Ability to propose alternative solutions to customers and sell them on the benefits.
- High-level communication skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to details, time management and organizational skills
