About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced, mechanically minded Packaging / Production Line Operator to oversee and operate an automated packaging line. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in meeting production targets while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with a supportive production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct machine start-up safety checks and manage multiple production runs per shift
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Operate a front-end loader (training provided if required)
- Monitor and manage the full packaging line, including palletiser and hooding machinery
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and basic servicing of machinery
- Maintain accurate records, including:
- Quality control documentation
- Machine maintenance checks and sign-offs
- Daily production schedules
- Batch control and troubleshooting logs
- Meet production output targets during peak and non-peak periods
- Adhere strictly to all WHS/OH&S, quality, and operational procedures
- Assist in other areas of the business as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Current Forklift Licence, essential (applications without a licence will not be considered)
- Full, unrestricted work rights in Australia is essential
- Previous experience as a production or packaging line operator
- Front-end loader experience (preferred but not essential)
- Mechanically minded with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Sound literacy and basic numeracy for accurate record keeping
- Strong understanding of WHS/OH&S requirements
- Physically fit and capable of hands-on manual work
- High attention to detail, particularly with equipment care and maintenance
- Ability to work proactively within a team and independently when required
- Strong organisation, planning, and time-management skills
Work Conditions
- Monday to Friday roster
- Saturday work may be required during peak production periods
- Own transport essential (no public transport access)
- Onsite parking available
