About the role
In this hands-on and autonomous role, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across Australia and New Zealand, while supporting the wider business with administration and office management. Working closely with the General Manager and business owners, you’ll play a key role in keeping the finance function and Sydney office running smoothly.
Duties will include:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration in Xero
- Managing AR / AP / CC / purchasing and supplier relationships
- Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- End to end Payroll responsibilities – (STP)
- Completing GST reconciliations and preparing information for BAS
- Managing inventory and stock-related accounting and reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and procedures
- Assisting with month-end and management reporting
- Supporting budgeting and cash-flow reporting
- Liaising with external accountants as required
- Coordinating office suppliers, services and operational requirements
- Using Asana to manage recurring tasks and workflows

Ideal skills & experience
- 5+ years’ experience in senior bookkeeping or a similar finance role
- Strong Xero and payroll experience, including STP and superannuation
- Current Xero and Xero Payroll Certifications
- Strong knowledge of GST, BAS, payroll tax and workers compensation
- Experience across AP, AR, invoicing, reconciliations and debt collection
- Experience with inventory, multiple entities and financial reporting
- Strong Excel skills and exposure to budgeting and cash flow
- Highly organised, accurate and confident working autonomously
- Strong administrative and communication skills
- Experience with Asana or similar systems advantageous
- Bookkeeping qualification or diploma would be an advantage, but is not essential
What’s on offer
- Immediate start
- $80K-$90K + Super, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5.00pm OR open to a 4-day work for the right person
