About the Role
  
Our client is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to bring his/her creative energy and calm leadership to a vibrant team.
  
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional dishes, oversee kitchen operations, and mentor the culinary team. This role requires a deep passion for food, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping the restaurant’s menu for a discerning clientele, enhancing existing systems and processes, and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere focused on excellence and creativity.

Duties:

  • Collaborate on every aspect of the kitchen operations with the Head Chef
  • Provide leadership, training & mentorship for all kitchen staff
  • Cultivate a supportive, motivating and enjoyable workplace
  • Provide organization of kitchen prep, ordering & delegation of tasks in the kitchen
  • Maintain & oversee rigorous standards of hygiene & cleanliness of the kitchen using cleaning schedules and checklists
  • Actively participate in the service for the restaurant
  • Provide quality control, drive, consistency and speed.
  • Be a creative force, contributing to the restaurant menu and weekly specials

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a kitchen management position
  • Proven experience in a modern, fast-paced establishment (high volume operation)
  • In depth knowledge of kitchen processes and procedures.
  • Strong menu planning skills with an eye for creativity and plating.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Great leadership and mentoring skills
  • Time management skills, with the ability to adhere to workflow
