About the Role:
The Recruitment Alternative is seeking a skilled and motivated full-time, CNC Machinist to join our client’s dedicated team (Alasco Engineering) in Wollongong office.
Reporting to Operations Manager, you will be responsible for operating, programming and setting CNC lathe machine to produce high-quality products according to client’ specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, good mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties:
- Reading program engineering drawings to determine materials required and appropriate machine settings.
- Setting & operating of CNC vertical & horizontal machining centres in the manufacturing process.
- Producing quality parts using variety of techniques including fitting and assembling metal parts while maintaining production efficiency.
- Checking fabricated and assembled parts against fit requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Diagnosing any faults with the operating machines and mechanical parts.
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S regulations at all times.
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant qualification (Certificate IV at a minimum) or 3 years of work experience in lieu of qualifications.
- You must have at least 2 years of work experience in the field
- Experience with setting and operating of CNC Lathes, multi axis and swiss type.
- Experience with Mitsubishi, Celos and Fanuc controls will be an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Professional work ethic with the ability to work autonomously and as part of the team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
The salary for the role is between $70,000 – $80,000, depending on experience.
